What an immersion program is (and is not)
Immersion is not "having class in Spanish". It is living in Spanish: the language stops being a subject and becomes the air you breathe. A good language immersion program combines three legs:
- Class with method — grammar and skills, yes, but in the service of speaking.
- Real life in Spanish — accommodation, errands, bars, friendships, paperwork. The city as a classroom.
- Culture — because you remember what you live, not what you memorise.
